In honor of our 1 year wedding anniversary, I am sharing some of our favorite pictures from our wedding! All of these pictures were taken by our fabulous professional photographers, The Framers of Lisbon, Portugal!
We really enjoyed our lunch, and we proceeded with booking our rehearsal dinner at Quinta do Arneiro shortly thereafter. For our rehearsal dinner, we rented out the entire property. Our evening started with a tour of the farm by the owner Mariana, a longer than an hour “happy hour” with a saxophonist, and then a 5 course dinner, all of which was totally amazing!
For me, the best came last: a dessert of local Rocha pears (also the main ingredient in a marvelous jam often served with cheese and port wine), atop an eggy souffle.
Looking southward from the back of the winery out over the vines at Quinta do Gradil With roughly 200 hectares under vine, the quinta grows a total of 22 varieties of grapes, both red and white. The whites range from Portuguese varieties normally found in the area, such as Arinto and Fernão Pires, as well as Verdelho and Viosinho, to international varieties including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier.
Intrigued by how the estate was growing, we made an appointment for a tasting with Dina Caetano, the enoturismo coordinator. On the Sunday we arrived, we joined a Dutch couple visiting the area, and Dina showed us the quinta and shared its story.
, to name just a few There was plenty of wine flowing as well, but for us, the emphasis was not on formal tastings. Rather, it was a fun day that celebrated the camaraderie, local flavors, and relaxed lifestyle of the Lisbon wine region’s countryside.
Our meal cerca x con due condizioni ended with an amazing gluten free “apple cobbler!” We ended up serving this again at our rehearsal dinner!
